Welcome to the EverGreen Meadow Academy

Welcome, dear reader.

Whether you’re a parent, caregiver, therapist, educator, or friend, I am so excited that you’ve found us. We’re about to embark on a fantastic journey to build a state-of-the-art therapeutic boarding school for middle-school girls.

EverGreen Meadow Academy was born out of my family’s experience, and I am so grateful for all the amazing, wonderful people and organizations who have chosen to support us and join our efforts.

When our daughter was in middle school and her early childhood trauma led to a suicide attempt, she ended up in an adolescent psychiatric hospital. When they told us that she would need residential treatment, we did not want to believe it. Her next stop was partial/day hospitalization. We thought and hoped that a short-term placement after that in a specialized wilderness program would be enough, but it was not.

We wanted to bring her home and get her into a specialized school that could also help her emotionally. We could not find one. There were schools that we loved (Green Chimneys) or ones that were broader in scope and age (The Charlton School). But none were a good fit for us.

So, we hired an educational consultant and found schools out West. And it was there that we found a middle school that saved my daughter’s life.

That’s the kind of school we want to build right here in New York State. No parent should have to send their daughter far away from home and family.

If you’re a parent reading this, and even though our school is not yet built, I am here for you. I am just an email or phone call away.

On a final note, our daughter is still in treatment but is making great strides. We are proud of her, and we let her know every step of the way that she is a hero in our family. Without her, none of us would be where we are today. We have all had to learn, grow, and heal together.

With gratitude,
